Dialogue and Collaboration in Organizations

Dialogue and Collaboration in Organizations is a two and one-half-day, integrated introduction to multiple levels of dialogue, organizational learning, and collective inquiry. It will help participants learn new communication, action, and awareness skills, and see what dialogue feels like through actual practice.

They will walk away with new ways of seeing familiar group patterns and structures, as well as new tools for understanding and impacting the larger organizational system. Areas of exploration include:

  • Learning and rehearsing a different approach to conflict resolution and change based on dialogue and collaboration.
  • Discovering the nature of balanced and coordinated action in any team or group
  • Inquiring effectively into “what's really going on” in a conversation
  • Understanding distinct ways of speaking and listening, and why breakdowns occur
  • Learning the basic elements that contribute to a successful dialogue.
  • Understanding, diagnosing, and preventing barriers and traps that can derail the process of dialogue and bring conflict
  • Experiencing the power of collective intelligence and its relevance for your organization
  • Exploring the assumptions, judgments, and emotions behind decision making
  • Practicing reflection to increase effectiveness on action and the quality of decisions you make
