Steve Jobs: The power of a unique life

Last night before going to bed I became aware of the news that Steve Jobs has died. What I will miss more about him is his unapologetic uniqueness and talent. He was an example of the innovative mindset.

Jim Connolly, my marketing mentor, shared this morning a quote by Steve Jobs that is a good example of his philosophy of life:

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.  Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.  Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice.”

Today, as the world remembers him, I only want to encourage every one of you to find the courage to be authentic and unique. You don’t have to try to be another Steve Jobs. It will be impossible, and make you a fraud. My hope is that his life and death will inspire you to be your best you!
