Nick Petrie, a Senior Faculty member with the Center for Creative Leadership, asked 30 experts what should be stopped in leadership development and got a consistent answer: Stop sending people to courses they don't want to go to. Does this means all leadership development should stop? Not exactly.
More than 70 percent of mergers and acquisitions fail mostly because little thought is given to the needs of the staff and employees. Whereas there might be clear financial benefits for two companies becoming one, these benefits are often dwarfed by the expense of high levels of stress, confusion, employee turnover, and loss of productivity.
I hear too many leaders nowadays report feeling overwhelmed or burned out. I believe one of the main reasons for this is that we spend too many hours trying to do too many things at the same time.
