Collaboration is one of the main words you need to understand and practice to thrive.
As Michael McKinney recently wrote on his blog, “The challenge facing any leader is turning individual action into collective power.”
Most people don't want to be spectators at work. Call them to be involved. Ask for their contribution. Invite them to participate.
Create an environment and culture that fosters collaboration. Opportunity for dynamic dialogues will help to develop deeper relationships and trust. Great relationships make collaboration and getting the work done possible.
Collaboration brings in and listens to the diversity of voices needed to create a better world. It recognizes we are interdependent. Therefore, the optimal relationship between all the parts makes the whole more efficient, effective, and insightful.
The power of effective collaboration is the power of the future. Do you know how to instill in people both the willingness and the ability to collaborate? If you do, are you willing to share your knowledge and experience with other leaders? If you don't, are you willing to learn?
What do you think?
How do you cultivate collaboration in a way that helps achieve the great things that are not possible when people work alone or divided? Share your comments and experiences with us.
