Leading Transformative Change

The Need

Numerous research studies show that effective communication and collaboration are the most important leadership skills needed in today's business world. For example, research by the Center for Creative Leadership (2007)[1] reveals that 49% of respondents and 97% of senior leaders believe that collaboration is the foremost leadership skill needed for effective future leadership.

However, only 30 percent of respondents and 47 percent of senior leaders believed leaders in their organization are actually skilled in collaboration. In addition, leading change, building effective teams, and being able to influence without authority also ranked high in terms of leadership skills needed for today and the future.

Furthermore, numerous studies show that between 50 to 80 percent of change efforts and business mergers ultimately fail. Many times failure is due to trying to implement incremental change, or improvement in behaviors and operations, when what was needed was transformational change. A change in the whole culture of the organization.

Let's work together!

Over the past 20 years I have worked with many leaders to help them develop the dialogue and collaboration skills needed for the new business landscape. Through hands on training leaders develop the ability to communicate effectively, and the self-knowledge, and focused action required for leading transformative change. Therefore, as a leader you will be able to positively affect the bottom line of your business, by

  • reducing conflict and promoting collaboration among individuals and across departments;
  • turning diversity and individual differences into resources;
  • leading effective change with a systems approach, through positive dialogue and collaboration;
  • improving individual and organizational performance at all levels even in the midst of change;

Here's how it works

This program focuses on the art and practice of systems thinking, dialogue and collaboration. You and I will work together for a set time, giving you the opportunity to improve your dialogue skills and optimize your time and energy for innovation and change. You will always work with me personally via a combination of face-to-face meetings, video-conferencing, and phone calls.

You will benefit by learning how to influence and build the collaboration that leads to transformative change. The program draws on principles and theories of transformative adult and organizational learning, dialogue, systems thinking, positive psychology, and the latest literature and research on change.

I see dialogue as a practice among people, and the cornerstone for better work relationships, collaboration, and change. For this reason, the Leading Transformative Change Program covers five main areas:

  • Dialogue and Collaboration in Organizations
  • Interpersonal Collaboration and Transformative Change
  • Leadership and Group Emotional Intelligence: Facilitation and Influencing Skills
  • Collaborative Leadership and Systemic Change Dynamics
  • Developing Action Projects and Models that Engage Everybody

Transformative conversations are the heart of the leadership journey. Be a conversational leader and you will guide change and innovation effectively!

The Transformative Change Program involves a commitment of at least one year of engagement. Contact me today, or call 302-399-3915, to find out how I can help you attain your goals for leadership development.
