Does your leadership heart needs an upgrade?

The Entertainer's World

A few days ago Apple introduced to the world iCloud, along with other software upgrades. I imagine that most of us Mac fans will want to upgrade our software and take advantage of the new capabilities as soon as it is available in the fall.

I wish we were as diligent in upgrading the software of our hearts! You probably find it relatively easy to give voice to your “logical,” linear, critical patterns of thinking. Will you allow your heart, your intuition, your spirit, to also have a voice?

I recently wrote a blog post about the need for true freedom of speech. I want to propose freedom of speech includes the freedom to give voice to our inner selves; to the deep values and feelings of the heart; and to the soft voice of spirit.

You see, in the 21st century business as usual will not work. You can’t think only about money and operations. You can’t be the lone hero that doesn’t need anybody. This is the century of collaboration and communication. To be successful now,

  • you need to let your heart care for others.
  • you need to inspire trust by valuing people.
  • you need to create relationships.
  • you need to invite others into the conversation.
  • you need to make meaning together.
  • you need to use the collective wisdom to innovate.

It's time to upgrade and evolve! Just like you need to upgrade your hard-drives and software, you need to also renew how you think and operate your brain and heart.

Remember

Collaboration through genuine dialogue is a choice you can make. You need to let both your brain and your heart have a voice. Then you need to invite others to do the same. Conversation will be richer. Innovation will propel you ahead. Better yet, you and your people will find more meaning and satisfaction in your work.

By upgrading the software of your heart you can and will have much success in the years ahead!
